"Ready Player One" Chapter 0000 Reaction

Ready Player One is a novel by Ernest Cline that I have been meaning to read since I saw the trailer for the movie, which is coming out this March.

In the prologue of the story, we are not really introduced to the protagonist, but we are rather introduced to the world and the stage is set for the protagonist's adventure.

There is barely anything in the prologue that I didn't know from the trailer for the upcoming movie, but that is not a problem of the book, but is definitely what it sounds like, a personal one.

I enjoyed this little introduction to world, and I look forward to seeing how 2045 does the 80s. It will be fun to get the references that I can.

Off the bat, I want to know what the hero wants. He is in a situation where he has done something that no one has been able to do for five years, with fewer resources than most (assumed because of the film trailer and the fact that he lives in a trailer park in the book - though yet to know if it is anything like what will be in the movie).

Without knowing much more, I soft predict that this Halliday/Anorak fellow is not dead, but created this "Hunt" for some weird or twisted purpose.

One last thing to note are the annotations at the bottom of the pages. I wonder if that is the author, the character, or what. It is different, and makes the prologue feel like an essay. We learn in the end that the book is the protagonist's narrative, so I wonder if it is safe to assume he does not die.
