"Ready Player One" Chapter 0010-0016 Reaction

I am not going to lie, I am outrageously behind on this series. It is day 24 of the year, and I should at least be on chapter 24 of this book, but alas. I will probably fall behind even more as I get deeper into my 100 days of Marvel challenge, but the jury is still out on that.

Today (Yesterday, actually. But I am editing and posting this early in the morning) I jumped back into the OASIS, and my GOD did the story ramp up in these few chapters. I made it to the end of Level 1, and everything is different.

Because of the trailer for the film, I have been waiting for an explosion in the stacks. I was satisfied with how it all went down, and the moments in these chapters begin to give real heft to the story. Wade now has real consequences, and he cannot go back to the life that he knew.

Okay, I am loving the other characters. Aech can have a little more development, but I really like Art3mis and her connection to Wade. I wasn't skeptical of Aech at first, but after that whole glitch thing I wonder his motives. He seemed to write that off too quickly, and I wonder if the Samurai brothers bailed because they got that same vibe. I believe that IOI has maybe gotten to Aech. He offers Wade a place to live (flag), money (flag), and would have been the immediate next contact for IOI. I think him more so than Aech because they knew that Aech and Wade were connected. IOI probably figured they could get to Wade through Aech - but all this is speculation based on comics falling...in a virtual game. #SipsTea #FoilHatEquipped

Don't care for iR0k, which is a shame. I want more from him. I also wanted more from the aunt, but I guess she is out of the picture. I don't like how she dies though, and I hope she is still alive. Without her, and I think it will be difficult for Wade to have a complete Atonement as the hero. I think a huge part of it is Embracing the Foster, too. This is not a step in the traditional journey, but a large number of heroes have a foster. Later, I want to develop a theory that separates the Atonement with the Father and with the foster parents, as I think it should be different.

I was a little board with the movie-game he had to play to unlock the gate, but I enjoyed how I could imagine the experience.

I have already a little part of Level Two, and I want to say, it will be difficult to put the story down now that the gears are turning. I am hoping to easily get back on track today.
